Our Approach

GlobalMoldManagement.com is a knowledge publishing platform. We use first-party analytics to understand which tooling topics are most valuable to our visitors. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, we do not fingerprint visitors, and we do not track you across unrelated websites.

What We Collect

  • Anonymous Visitor ID — A randomly generated identifier stored in your browser's local storage. It is not derived from your IP address, device, email, or any personal attribute.
  • Session Data — Landing page, referrer, UTM parameters, device category, browser, operating system, and language for each visit.
  • Event Data — Page views, content views, searches, FAQ expansions, internal link clicks, and COAST referral clicks, with timestamps.
  • Truncated IP Address — We receive your IP address through our hosting infrastructure. We truncate it (zeroing the final octet for IPv4) and store a salted hash for limited analytics and security purposes. We do not store the full IP address long-term.
  • Inquiry Data — When you voluntarily submit the "Ask a Question" form, we collect the name, email, company, and question you provide, along with attribution data showing how you found the site.

What We Do Not Collect

  • Precise geolocation or GPS data
  • Cross-site browsing history
  • Device fingerprints or browser fingerprints
  • Your identity unless you voluntarily provide it through an inquiry

Consent

We classify our analytics storage as Analytics (not Strictly Necessary). When you first visit, you will see a consent banner. You may accept or decline analytics tracking. If you decline, we do not collect analytics events. If you accept, we collect the data described above. You can change your preference at any time — your consent state is stored in your browser and can be cleared with your browsing data.

How We Use Your Data

  • Content intelligence — Understanding which topics, technologies, and lifecycle stages are most researched.
  • Search intelligence — Identifying what visitors search for, including zero-result searches that indicate content gaps.
  • Inquiry attribution — When you submit a question, understanding how you discovered the site helps us improve.
  • COAST referral measurement — Counting when visitors click through to COAST Systems (with UTM parameters).

We do not sell or share analytics data with advertisers or third parties.

Data Retention

  • Analytics events — Retained for approximately 400 days, then eligible for deletion or aggregation.
  • Sessions — Retained for approximately 365 days.
  • Visitor records — Retained for approximately 730 days.
  • Inquiries — Retained indefinitely as editorial records. You may request deletion of your inquiry data.
  • Raw IP — Not stored long-term. Only truncated and hashed versions are retained.

Your Rights

If you have submitted an inquiry and wish to have your personal data deleted, contact us through the Ask a Question page. For anonymous behavioral data, clearing your browser's local storage removes your visitor identifier and prevents further tracking.

International Visitors

This site serves an international audience. Our consent architecture is designed to respect GDPR, UK GDPR, and similar privacy frameworks. Analytics activation requires affirmative consent.

Company / Organization Identification

We may, in the future, use a reputable business-IP intelligence service to identify the possibleorganization associated with a visitor's network. The architecture is: the incoming request IP is used ephemerally server-side, sent to the provider if configured, the provider returns an organization/network classification, and the raw IP is discarded — not stored long-term for future enrichment. The truncated and hashed IP we retain is for internal analytics and security only; it cannot be used for external company identification, which requires the original non-truncated IP. This would identify a company network, not an individual person. We will not display a company name unless confidence is sufficiently meaningful, and we will always label it as "Possible Organization" — not "Visitor Company" — unless the visitor voluntarily provides their company through an inquiry.
